Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026.

1. What we collect

Depending on whether you sign up as a customer or a provider:

  • Everyone: name, phone number, email, password (stored securely, never in plain text), and your general area in Accra if you share it.
  • Providers: WhatsApp number, service type, areas covered, bio, years of experience, an ID document for verification, and optionally a profile photo and photos of past work.
  • Customers: optionally, a profile photo.
  • Everyone: booking history, chat messages and any photos shared in chat, reviews you leave or receive, and saved/favorited providers.
  • If you turn on notifications: a push subscription tied to your device, so we can send you a notification — we don't use this for anything else.

2. How we use it

  • To create and run your account, and match customers with providers.
  • To verify a provider's identity before they can appear in search.
  • To let you book, chat, and leave or receive reviews.
  • To send booking updates, messages, and review notifications.
  • To review reports filed against a provider.
  • To keep the platform working and secure.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it to show you ads.

3. Who can see what

  • A provider's name, photo, service details, areas, rate, rating, reviews, and work photos are public — anyone can see them, including people not signed in.
  • A provider's phone/WhatsApp number is only shown to a signed-in customer, and only after they choose to view it.
  • A customer's name and phone number are only visible to a provider they've actually booked — never shown publicly.
  • A provider's ID document is private — only visible to the Ezer team for verification, never to customers or other providers.
  • Chat messages (and any photos shared in them) are only visible to the two people on that booking.
  • Reviews are shown publicly under "Verified customer" — never with the reviewer's name.

4. How we store and protect it

Data is stored with Supabase, our database and file storage provider, using row-level security so accounts can only read data they're actually allowed to see. Passwords are hashed, never stored as plain text. ID documents and other private files are kept in access-controlled storage, not publicly reachable by a plain link.

5. Your choices

  • You can update your profile details, photo, and (for providers) rate and bio at any time in Settings.
  • You can turn push notifications on or off whenever you like.
  • You can permanently delete your account from Settings — this removes your profile, bookings, messages, and reviews. This can't be undone.

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed as described above. We may keep limited records where we're required to (for example, to investigate a report of misconduct) for a reasonable period afterward.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date above.

8. Contact

Questions about your data, or want to request a copy or deletion outside the app? Reach the Ezer team through the contact details on our homepage.

This document is a starting point written for Ezer's actual features, not a substitute for advice from a lawyer. Before a wider public launch, it's worth having it reviewed against Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), including whether Ezer needs to register with the Data Protection Commission as a data controller.
